Halloween Weekend Road Closure Information

Saturday – October 30, 2010

 

Road Closures

There are no planned road closures for Saturday, October 30, 2010.  

However, Washington Street (from Bridge (MBTA Station) to Lynde Street) and Federal Street (from Washington Street to North Street) could experience traffic diversion and potential closings during the afternoon and evening hours for public safety if the entertainment venue crowds and the crowds coming off the trains are too large and cannot be confined to the sidewalk areas, as well as any other street within the downtown area.

 

No Parking Tow Zones – October 30, 2010- 8:00AM

Washington Street – both sides from Bridge Street to Lynde Street

Federal Street from Washington Street to North Street (on the court complex side)

Federal Street from Washington Street to approximately #45 Federal Street (on the church side)

Road Closures

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic at approximately 5:00pm on October 31st:

Washington Street closed from New Derby Street to Bridge Street

Essex Street closed from Barton Square to Union Street

Derby Street from Lafayette Street to Congress Street

Brown Street closed at New Liberty Street (2nd closure point at Howard Street)

Lafayette Street closed between Derby Street and Front Street

Hawthorne Boulevard closed from Derby Street to Essex Street

Washington Square North closed from Winter Street to Brown Street.

Washington Square West closed

Washington Square South closed

Winter Street closed at Bridge Street

Williams Street closed at Bridge Street

**Lafayette Street and New Derby Street will remain open to traffic to Riley Plaza.

**Congress Street and Derby Street will remain open along Pickering Wharf.

 

Fireworks Road Closures & Traffic Control Plan for October 31, 2010 – 10:00PM to 11:30PM

Washington Street closes to traffic.  Bridge Street closes to traffic between the westerly overpass ramps and the Bypass Road.

Incoming northbound Bridge Street traffic is diverted up westerly ramps to North Street. The Bypass inbound traffic from Beverly is diverted back to Bridge Street and back towards Beverly.  Incoming southbound traffic from Bridge Street is detoured to the Bypass Road back to Beverly.  Signboard will be placed in Beverly before bridge alerting drivers that Salem (Route 1A & 107) will be closed to thru traffic from 10:00pm to 11:30pm

Franklin Street will be closed to traffic from North Street to Orchard Street

 

Posted No Parking Tow Zones – Sunday October 31, 2010 – NOON

The following streets will be posted no parking tow zones effective at noon time on October 31st:

 

Lafayette Street – both sides between Front Street and Derby Street

Public parking lot along Front Street

Public parking spaces located on Central Street in front of old police station

Essex Street between Liberty Street and Hawthorne Boulevard

Derby Street – both sides from Lafayette Street to Congress Street

Hawthorne Boulevard – both sides from Derby Street to Washington Square

Front Street – both sides

Washington Street – both sides from New Derby Street to Church Street

Washington Street – both sides from Church Street to Bridge Street

Central Street – both sides

Washington Square North, South, and West – both sides

Federal Street from Washington Street to North Street (on the court complex side)

Federal Street from Washington Street to approximately #45 Federal Street (on the church side)

Franklin Street – both sides from North Street to Orchard Street
